Ground Improvement

The design of ground improvement work involves planning and implementing techniques to enhance the engineering properties of the soil or ground at a construction site. Ground improvement is often necessary when dealing with weak or problematic soil conditions to ensure the stability and performance of structures.

Our offering includes,

  1. PRE LOADING + PVD’S: Preloading with Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVDs) is one of the most effective ground improvement techniques used to accelerate consolidation in soft clay deposits. This method reduces long-term settlement and enhances the bearing capacity of the soil before construction. At C-Phi Consult Pvt. Ltd., we provide end-to-end design, installation planning, and performance monitoring for preloading and PVD systems.
  2. STONE COLUMN DESIGN: Stone Columns (Vibro Replacement) are a versatile ground improvement technique for enhancing the bearing capacity, reducing settlement, and improving the drainage characteristics of weak soils.
  3. ANALYSIS & DESIGN OF SOIL NAILING WALLS / ROCK BOLTS: Soil nailing and rock bolting are cost-effective solutions for stabilizing steep cut slopes, retaining walls, and excavations. These systems provide internal reinforcement to the soil/rock mass, ensuring long-term stability and safety.
  4. BASAL REINFORCEMENT DESIGN: Basal Reinforcement involves placing high-strength geosynthetic layers at the base of embankments on soft ground to prevent shear failure, lateral spreading, and excessive settlement. This is critical when constructing embankments on weak or very soft clay.
  5. LIQUEFACTION ASSESSMENT: Liquefaction analysis evaluates the potential for saturated sandy soils to lose strength during an earthquake. This is a crucial component of geotechnical design in seismic regions and for structures founded on loose sands. We perform advanced liquefaction assessments based on global and Indian standards.
